Equipment Survey
- Kilns, Ball Mills, Dryers, Granulators, Rail Car Dumpers, Over Head Crane rails, Motor Bases, Sole Plates, machinery foundations.
- Laser Alignment, Theodolite, Ovalities, Shell runout
- Laser Alignments - Motors, Pumps, Gearboxes, Clutches, Fans, Drive Train Alignments, jackshafts.
- Theodolite survey of base frames for positions, elevation, and slope. Trunnion position and offset from machine center lines
- Ovalities, RKM utilizes a highly sensitive Ovality Measuring tool to measure and record a Kiln Shells deformation as it rotates 360°.
- Laser shell runout scans utilizing a highly sensitive laser scanning tool that measures and records the shell runout as the shell rotates 360°.
Resurfacing
- Tires, Trunnions, Thrust Rollers.
- RKM utilizes specialized resurfacing / grinding equipment developed in house to machine tires, trunnions and trust buttons to maintain a flat and true surface.
Overlay
- Raw Mill /Roller Mill Tables & Tires - RKM has developed an overlay system that can runup to 4 heads to be able to add overlay weld to raw mill / roller mill tables.
Gear Teeth Repairs
- Due to long lead times for specialty gears, RKM can provide weld repair service to keep equipment running until new parts can be manufactured, delivered, and installed.

Emergency Services
Every plant desires to achieve their optimum production time. Therefore, at times wear and tear on the equipment may cause it to fail. For such instances, we have set up emergency contact information and pre-packaged tool cribs/boxes. Our knowledgeable and experienced personnel can address these failures and are able to get the equipment functioning once again and ensure minimal down time.
Structural and Pipe Manufacturing
Located in the lower mainland and serving a wide range of industries, our fabrication/production facility offers convenient access to the Trans-Canada Highway.
Our Quality Control program is registered with ABSA, TSBC and TSASK to perform ASME pipework covered by Sections VIII Div.1, B31.3, B31.1, as well as pipeline fabrication covered under CSA Z662. As we are an ‘A’ License Certified fabrication shop, located in the Lower Mainland of BC, we provide Customers with quality, reliability, and cost-effective pressure work compliant with Code, Project, and Jurisdictional requirements.
It is our core Work Ethic to constantly monitor all procedures to ensure we meet our client’s expectations to the highest standard; with all of our production team members meeting, or exceeding, our rigorous quality assurance/control requirements. All welding and materials are strictly tracked, recorded, and traceable to the individuals and manufacturers utilized. All prefabricated pipework undergoes our internal Quality Inspection as part of our Quality Control Program, prior to delivery.
Pre-Cast and Girder Bridge Erection
Somewhat of a specialty field for skilled Ironworkers, RKM has been expanding its involvement in the area of Pre-Cast Concrete installations, and Girder Bridge Erections, for the last 5 years. RKM excels at not just erecting ‘Tilt-Up’ buildings, or the installation of Pre-Cast Concrete Vaults. RKM has been intimately involved in the design, planning, and execution of multiple high-profile BC Highways infrastructure Projects, as well as complex installations at BC Place, Rogers Arena, UBC, and for Western Canadian Municipal, Provincial, and Federal Institutions.
